Options Youth Housing
Options is a transitional accommodation service for young people aged 16 to 25. Options has a strong focus on working towards independence from the social welfare system. It is more than just affordable housing, Options also provides:
- Individual case management;
- Personal support;
- Budgeting and financial support;
- Education and employment support;
- Living skills development; and
- Other support as required.
Stability and structure
Young people at Options learn how to successfully manage a tenancy in a semi-supported environment and are assisted in building the skills and confidence to live self-sufficiently. Young people pay 25% of their income towards rent, and must be committed to reaching their goals within a 18-24 month time frame.
Young people who would like to know more about Options are encouraged to read our fact sheet.
Services wishing to refer young people to Options should read our eligibility criteria and complete our referral form. Successful applicants will begin with a three month trial (read the checklist to get an idea of what the young person must achieve).
